Samurai residents in Kakunodate, also known as ‘Little Kyoto of Tohoku’, are a popular cherry blossom site.
Weeping cherry trees and Yoshino cherry trees lie along Hinokinai Riverbank for 2km and it is just outstanding. Also there is a gregarious skunk cabbages and dogtooth violets nearby, which you can enjoy while watching the cherry trees.
