Aquamarine Fukushima, an aquarium hit by the devastating earthquake and tsunami on March 11, is finishing re-construction work soon and will open its door again on Friday, July 15.
A message sent by Mr. Yukihiro Hashimoto, Assistant Director of the aquarium:
“Aquamarine Fukushima with the theme of ‘the Shiome Sea’ where the Kuroshio (black current) and Oyashio (kurile current) meet off the Fukushima coast exhibits oceanic environments with numerous species of animals and plants.
A giant outdoor pool, ‘Snake Eye Beach’ where you can touch creatures found on the beach, is one of rare experiences offered by this innovative sea museum.”
We continuously strive for reconstruction to let you enjoy the same exhibits before the earthquake.
Open: 9am to 5:30pm (Saturdays/Sundays/national holidays in July & August: 9am to 7pm)
