Fukushima Prefecture launched a PR campaign, “Fukushima Happy Design” Project, aiming to recover and promote local tourism. It plans to “design new Fukushima together and change the area into a happy destination.” (Read more)
Its first phase announced on Thursday includes PR activities by specifically formed “Fukushima Happy Crew” consisting of members wearing “happi coat”. The crew is touring Tokyo metropolitan area and other prefectures, distributing free gifts and brochures for promoting tourism in Fukushima.
This month, the crew will be sent on a mission to four events .
