JR Hachinohe Line Fully Re-open

The JR Hachinohe Line, badly hit by the tsunami at the March 11 earthquake, re-opened to service between Taneichi in Hironocho and Kuji, both in Iwate Prefecture on March 17.

As the rest of the track is already served, the line now completely re-opened to service.
From April 28th, the train named “Resort Umineko” will run on the Sanrikutetsudo-kita-riasu Line, which further contributes, to recovery of local tourism.

Also, between Ishinomaki and Watanoha of the JR Ishinomaki Line, and between Rikuzen-ono and Yamoto of the Senzan Line re-opened to service on 17th.
