Last day of Sendai Tanabata

It comes to the last day of the Sendai Tanabata Festival today.

According to the Sendai Tanabata Festival Support Association, organizer of the festival, a turnout reached 1.5 million by this morning and the final count is expected to go up to 1.75 million.

This year, many of Tanabata decorations have been created with wishes for “recovery” from the damage following the Great East Japan Earthquake, which makes the festival deeply emotive and special.
