Suspended international flight services from Taipei to Sendai, following the March 11 earthquake, resumed on October 30. Passengers on the first flight were welcomed by the partied concerned with a banner.
Prior to its landing, the Japan Tourism Agency presented a letter of appreciation to the EVA Air for their enormous support in developing travel products to Japan. Goodwill ambassadors of “Mori-no-miyako (Sendai)” added a colorful touch to the ceremony by presenting a bouquet.
Taipei is the third city connected to Sendai while Seoul and Guam have been done so since September 25 and October 2 respectively.
In addition, services from Seoul to Aomori also resumed on October 30 with the first flight to the Aomori Airport carrying 114 passengers.
Air traffic between Tohoku and overseas is steadily recovering.
