Hagurosan, one of the Dewasanzan, is known as a sacred place in Tohoku where mountain priests used to train and practice. Omotesando (front approach) goes on for 1.7km with 2,446 stone steps and a line of cedar trees 350 to 500 years old on both sides. Hagurosan was given three stars on Michelin Greenguide Japon for its great scenery that keeps attracting tourists. Located in the middle of the cedar trees is a national treasure, Gojuno-to.
